Abstract
Heat pumps supply more energy than they consume by extracting heat from their surrounding. In the article, this rather unbelievable theory is put into practice in a study of the application of heat pump technology in hotels. It is proven that the general advantages of heat pump systems outweight those of their contemporaries. The article also shows their operation to require a relatively small amount of externally supplied energy.
