A Social Network Approach to Understanding an Insurgency

Abstract

The article explores the fundamentals of network analysis and its relationship to war. It presents the perceptive review of the analytical tools and strategies required to overcome a networked enemy's array of linked resources, which gives little doubt on the immediate need to reassess the military strategy of U.S. It determined that modern insurgency represents an acquired form of warfare that takes advantage of pre-existing and associated social, economic and military networks.
