Abstract

Money that served as a medium of exchange, in fact has various hidden meanings in social practice in the society. One of the highlights is the existence of uang kebon employed by Tuan Kebun, in this case located in the plantation of Tanah Deli, or better known as the East Sumatra Plantation. In this context there is a problem related to the presence of the uang kebon that is how the practice of colonialism which is reflected in the uang kebon? Through Marxist Archeologies scalpel obtained meaning gardener money as a hegemonies practice tool conducted by Tuan Kebun against the workers/ Kuli.
