Abstract

The general aims of this paper were to present a novel floating breakwater fabricated with large numbers of diamondshaped blocks and find out the favorable characteristics of geometrical configurations basing on wave attenuation and mooring force debasement. The research are expected to offer a little of information for the design of floating breakwater. Four sorts (with equal number of blocks) of geometrical configurations had been involved in the contrasting analyses. Various factors including water depth, relative width of the floating body and wave steepness were considered. The results had shown that the proposed porous floating breakwater revealed favorable performance and the geometrical configuration could impact wave attenuation and mooring force significantly.
