Abstract

To calculate the behaviour factor by means of a re-analysis of a pushover curve, each modern seismic code defines the reference parameters in a different way which results in a wide variety of possible choices to select them. In order to overcome this kind of problem, this paper discusses some possible definitions of the reference overstrength and ductility parameters which can be used for all types of structures. To do so, the influence of different choices of such parameters in the assessment of the behaviour factor will be investigated for three case studies of different composite steel-concrete MRF buildings. Finally, re-analysis of the obtained results is presented and discussed.
