Abstract

New ligand (TBPAM) was synthesized by coupling between (4-tetra-butyl)aniline and 4-methyl imidazole, then studied it's coordination behavior with five metal ions Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), and Hg(II), the ligand (TBPAM) and the prepared complexes were characterized by using Mass, 1HNMR, Ultra violet-visible, FT-IR, Magnetic susceptibility and also by Molar conductivity. The conclusion of the data indicated the octahedral geometry of the complexes that have general formula [M(TBPAM)2Cl2], where the ligand (TBPAM) behave as bidentate from azo group and imidazole moiety.
