“Çingene” mi, “Roman” mı? Bir inşa süreci

Abstract

The subject of this article is how the groups called either Gypsy or Rom has been described and imagined in popular and academic literature and discourse. Throughout the article based on the notion of representation as a key word, the construction of representations regarding Gypsies and Roms both in popular and academic literature and discourse will be taken into consideration respectively. By this way although they both refer to same people, the different usages of the words Gypsy and Rom will tried to be revealed.
