Abstract

A brief definition of environment and the various subsystems of the environment. The author divides the physical environment into seven subsystems: geological, geomorphological, climatological, surface water, ground water, pedological, and vegetational. The social environment is not as clearly subdivided but seen as embracing economic, political, and cultural environments. -R.L.Edmonds
