Abstract

The nuage is a hazy electron-dense structure unique to germ cells and is enriched in components of the piRNA pathway. Although the nuage is cytoplasmic, Zhang et al. now show that it is organized by an intranuclear protein, UAP56. © 2012 Elsevier Inc.
