Abstract
Three catecholamines - dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine - serve as neurotransmitters in brain. The understanding of how these 3 types of neurons function and what physiological roles they have, has advanced to different stages but there is evidence that selective pharmacological intervention with respect to each of the 3 types of catecholamine neurons has, or will have, therapeutic uses. © 1983.
