Abstract

Aerodynamics questions fundamental researcn in nuid mechanics. Flows around moving bodies are subjected, to several basic phenomena, i.e. flow separation, vortex formation, hydrodynamic instabilities and development of turbulence, whose interrelation is not fully understood. This is pointed out in the present paper where the specific role of vortices and turbulence is particularly discussed. © AFM, EDP Sciences 2007.
