May I Have Your Divided Attention: On the Emancipatory Potential of Educational Heterotopia and Heterochrony

Abstract

The article discusses Michel Foucault's philosophical concept of "heterotopias"; spaces which host social deviance. The relationship between labor, workplaces, and heterotopias is scrutinized and information is offered on Jacques Rancière’s theory of equal intelligence and its application to the philosophy of education with a focus on student and worker autonomy.
