Com o ‘outro’ nos olhos: alguns aspectos da alteridade na etnologia amazônica

Abstract

O artigo percorre alguns dos caminhos que é uma das ideias centrais que a etnologia amazônica deve a Patrick Menget. A constatação de que os sistemas sociais amazônicos têm como um de seus pilares constitutivos a referência a formas específicas de alteridade está na origem tanto da profunda renovação de nossa compreensão sobre os coletivos indígenas da América do Sul, quanto dos avanços teóricos que a etnologia amazônica trouxe para a teoria antropológica nas últimas décadas.The article goes through some of the paths followed by one of the central ideas that Amazonian ethnology owes to Patrick Menget. The finding that Amazonian social systems have specific forms of 'alterity' as one of their important foundation is in the origin of the renewal of our understanding about South American indigenous collectives and the theoretical advances Amazonian ethnology has brought to anthropological theories in the last decades.
