Abstract

A model for the solubility, K{sub sp}, of FeCO{sub 3} based on Pitzer's equation for activities in aqueous electrolyte is presented. The model predicts the solubility of FeCO{sub 3} with varying composition in the system H{sub 2}O-OH{sup -}-H{sup +}-CO{sub 2}-HCO{sub 3}{sup -}-CO{sub 3}{sup 2-}-SO{sub 4}{sup 2-}-Cl{sup -}-A{sup -}-Na{sup +}-K{sup +}-Fe{sup 2+}-Mg{sup 2+}-Ca{sup 2+}-Sr{sup 2+}-Ba{sup 2+} in the temperature and pressure regions: 0
