Abstract

The aim of this study is improving the results of study of student grade XI TPM 1, vocational high school Pancasila Surakarta in subject of of machining practice. This study used work preparation sheet as the treatment method in order to resolve the learning problem in subject of machining practice. This study is classrom action research. This study was conducted on two cycles with four phasesi.e. (1) Planning; (2) Acting; (3) Evaluation; and (4) Reflecting. The object of this study is students grade XI TPM 1 Vocational High School Pancasila Surakarta in academic year 2016/2017. The total number of students grade XI are 27 students. This research was conducted by collaboration between researcher, teacher and student. The data of research was collected through the observation, documentation, interview and test. The instrument was validated by expert judgement. Data was analyzed by using comperatif descriptive. The experiment result show that the use of work preparation sheet method could improve the result of student competency in lathe machine practice. In first cycles show that the percentage of students who had passed the standart of minimum score is 59.25% and the average score of practice is 76.62. In second cycles is 81.48% and the average score of practice machining is 82.37. While the results of the practice evaluation is 62.96% and the average score of practice evaluation is 73.51 in first cycles, increased to 85.18% by the average score of practice evaluation is 78.8 in second cycles.
