Abstract

Bosenberg and Strand (1906) recorded Argyrodes fissifrons O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1869 from Japan. Their identification is proved to be wrong by the examination on the type specimens. The spider is described as a new species under the name Argyrodes kumadai sp. nov. On the other hand, A. menlunensis Zhu et Song, 1991 is newly synonymized with A. fissifrons.
