Abstract
This study aims to provide explanatory elements to understand the attitudes of football club leaders during the dictatorship in Brazil, offering an additional perspective to analyze the different expressions of the regime. In addition to contributing to the understanding of civil society during this period, the study seeks to reconsider the connections established by football club leaders with political authorities in various dimensions. Sources used include documents from the National Archives, documents from electoral courts, and press reports. The investigations reveal a mosaic of actions of conformity, indifference, adaptation, and adherence to the regime by club leaders.
