Abstract

A practical method of organizing and understanding discourse in therapy is presented based on four catagories of distinctions: (1) orders of framing; (2) markers; (3) content to frame relations; and (4) frame to frame relations. Following a general discussion of recursive frame analysis, two case studies demonstrate its applicability to managing family therapy.
