Abstract

A 40-year-old woman with multiple red papules on her trunk was diagnosed as T cell lymphoma based on histological and histochemical findings. Later this case was finally diagnosed as cutaneous T cell lymphoma, since there were no signs indicating the involvement of any other organs. Two years later, both circulating abnormal lymphocytes and lymph node swelling, which were confirmed histologically as an infiltration of abnormal lymphocytes respectively, were noted. Chemotherapy failed to produce any remission and she died of septic shock and multiorgan failure due to tumor cell invasion 3 years and 6 months after the initial examination. © 1992, Western Division of Japanese Dermatological Association.
