Abstract
They are different types of renewable energy in the world such as Photovoltaic (PV) systems, PV systems are increased in recent years in the world to fit needs in economic, technological, and environmental developments. Active distribution networks have more issues as Distributed Energy Resources (DER) penetration rises, making it more difficult for distribution system operators to effectively manage and design their networks. One of the primary issues is controlling voltage profile restrictions that may otherwise result in a load or renewable energy production reduction. Photovoltaic (PV) inverter Volt-VAr control schemes are one of the possible solutions to this problem. this paper presents the reactive power (Volt-VAr) control by using Model Predictive Controller (MPC) and PI controls to maintain the voltage profile limitation in the bus connected to the PV system in a low-voltage distribution network in two cases (over-voltage and under-voltage) and show the amount of Hosting Capacity (HC) improvement when using the reactive power control by using MATLAB SIMULINK, the HC enhancement of the grid by using smart inverter (Volt-VAr) control in this paper will greatly support to increasing PV solar system into the grid.
