Abstract
The management factor of the salt-making process needs to be considered. Site selection and seasons are essential to support salt salting. The windmill owned by farmers still using wooden material made annually is ineffective and the form of windmills being made does not meet the requirements without considering the wind speed. The pumping speed control is influenced by the size, weight and variation of the blade number and the size of the windmill affecting salt productivity, to optimize the function of the salt water pump by changing the blade material on the windmill by using composite materials and changing the variation of the blade number on the windmill which is 2,3,4 and 6.Test results using blower (fan) showed that the pump will be fully loaded only when the number of blade is 3, 4 and 6 with a speed of 3.49 m / s. As for power coefficient results, the increase of blade number leads to the greater the power efficiency produced. So from the results of simulations and lab tests the authors recommend variations in the number of blade 3.4 and 6. But the fact testing in the lab for variations in the number of blade 6 requires a high speed to start playing Blade, so Blade 4 is most recommended.
