Abstract
A case of Richter's femoral hernia containing portion of caecum and appendix base - both gangrenous -possibly because of pressure effect, is reported here. 2. Once again the diagnostic difficulties are emphasised. 3. A plea is made to operate as an emergency on every suspected case of strangulated femoral hernia or a doubtful, painful swelling in the groin.
