Abstract

This paper explores the impact of digital transformation on the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. As digital technologies reshape the global economy, MSMEs face increasing pressure to adapt in order to remain relevant and competitive. Using data from 4,374 scientific articles published between 2014 and 2023 and retrieved from the Scopus database, this study applies the Bibliometrix and Biblioshiny tools in R to identify prevailing research trends, influential keywords, and key thematic areas. The results highlight that topics such as innovation, sustainability, and technology adoption are central to the academic discussion, particularly in response to challenges posed by events like the COVID-19 pandemic. Thematic mapping also indicates that digital transformation is not only a technical shift but a strategic one—enabling MSMEs to enhance efficiency, enter new markets, and increase resilience. This study concludes that digital transformation plays a crucial role in the long-term competitiveness of MSMEs and calls for continued research and policy support in this evolving field.
