Abstract

Studied the following parameters: (1) the reliability and validity of a new self-consciousness scale for Japanese children, and (2) the relationships between self-consciousness and 7 personality traits. Ss were 424 5th-6th graders. Ss were administered a questionnaire consisting of 28 self-consciousness items, 90 personality items, and 25 social desirability items. Results were factor analyzed.
