Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of self-care competency, family support, depression, and life satisfaction in older patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods: This study was a descriptive correlation study. The study subjects included one hundred twenty one older patients diagnosed with type II diabetes mellitus who visited the endocrinology outpatient clinic at one university hospital located in metropolitan city B. Data collection was conducted with the structured self-report questionnaire from September 15th to October 30th, 2019. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s correlation coefficients, and multiple linear regression.
