Abstract
We have compared the tree and shrub vegetation reconstructed from the analysis of charcoal fragments found during the archaeological excavations of different prehistoric sites in Northern Italy. The sites were of different periods from Lower Neolithic to Bronze Age. The presence or absence of particular species in the different sites can be correlated either with geographical differences or with climate variations during the considered period. © 1992 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
