Abstract
The Personal Style of the Therapist (PST) is a multidimensional construct that is present in all therapeutic processes. The aim of the research was to study the influence of psychotherapeutic orientations (Post-rationalist and Systemic Cognitive) on the PST. The EPT-C questionnaire was administered to a sample of 67 Chilean therapists trained in both therapeutic schools. A cross-sectional analysis was conducted to compare the PST with respect to the two orientations. For this purpose, the Student t-test was used to compare both groups, with respect to the five dimensions of the therapist's personal style. A comparison of items was then made with a non-parametric (Mann-Whitney) test. The results indicated significant differences in operational and attentional functions. Significant differences were also found in 5 items of the questionnaire.
