Abstract
The article presents an outlook for the field of marketing education and professional development in the U.S. in 2006. Using database marketing and data mining, marketing students will be more prepared to link customer behavior and targeted marketing practices. In addition, classroom practices will focus on ethical behavior and marketing transparency issues. It is emphasized that professionals need to develop a metric system in order to align brand health and customer value with business performance.
