Workmen's compensation

Abstract

The physician's role in Workmen's Compensation may include: treatment of the injury or disease: the evaluation of onset, duration or cause; evaluation of injury or illness in relationship to work environment, or acts or omissions of another. Occupational diseases have factors in common which necessitate their treatment and management somewhat differently than occupational injuries. Characteristically the disease may progress or continue unless the specific cause is isolated and the determination of the causal relationship to the employment is always a matter for evaluation.
