Abstract

The work described in this paper addresses the problems of adolescent families and the recognition of their condition from the perspective of public policy, so they can have the chance to reconcile with and take control of their own trajectories., connected with multiple phenomena that take place in social interactions. By reviewing the theory on public policies, families, conciliation and adolescence, we seek to make adolescent maternity and paternity visible as one way of being a family. From a descriptive-interpretative methodology standpoing, we were able to unveil experiences and tensions as narrated by teen parents. The study shows that it is difficult to be recognized as protagonists when reconciling with family and community networks not only the upbringing of their children but also their own development paths as persons. The absence of intervention in adolescent families develops tension in variables associated with the chronicity of the conditions of vulnerability.
