Abstract

According to a theory derived from an examination of stream-gauging statistics carried out by C. W, Carlston, drainage density (texture of dissection) of the landscape is controlled by transmissibility (permeability) of the terrain, There are reasons for believing, however, that consistently high or low drainage density throughout a region depends on rainfall characteristics,. © Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
