Abstract

The Newton-Raphson method is one of the most popular iterative techniques for solving equations of the form f(x)=0. It is widely used in numerical analysis due to its efficiency and rapid convergence properties when the initial guess is sufficiently close to the true root. This paper explores the underlying theory of the Newton-Raphson method, its mathematical formulation, convergence criteria, and practical applications. Additionally, we examine its advantages and limitations providing insight into the conditions necessary for its optimal performance.
