Abstract

A possible application of a metal powder composition made of a high-temperature nickelbased alloy with high heat strength (the material is analogous to Inconel 718) in selective laser melting (SLM, an additive manufacturing technology) was considered. Peculiarities of material formation in the course of selective laser melting of the metal have been researched, and the mechanical properties of the material were determined. The effect of the thermal treatment mode on the mechanical characteristics was investigated. It was shown that the tensile strength of samples made of a high-temperature nickel alloy when the samples have not been subjected to thermal treatment is ~950 MPa; samples subjected to thermal treatment is ~1070 MPa.
