Abstract

The article explores the significance of the codification of the customary code, Laws of Lerotholi, on the legal transformation of the Kingdom of Lesotho in its post-colonial era. It examines how the system of codified rules originated and the challenges that these rules have faced in the modern constitutional era. It provides a platform for critically examining the role of Africans themselves in law creation in post-independence period.
