Abstract

The structure of aurofusarin, a golden yellow pigment of Fusarium culmorum (W.G. Smith) SAcc., has been studied. A dimeric naphthoquinonepyrone structure (IIa) has been put forward for aurofusarin by the comparative spectrometric studies of diacetate (IIb) and dimethyl ether (IIc) with some reference compounds. © 1968, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
