Abstract

Counselors and psychologists would benefit from a nuanced appreciation of Catholic sexual morality when working with human development issues among those who adhere to Church teaching. This focus is especially so among those preparing for a life of stable celibate chastity. Appreciation of the differences between boys and men and girls and women in the processes of psycho-sexual maturation is important. This article addresses these issues with a focus on celibacy and male psycho-sexual development in young men of Catholic commitment.
