Industrialização das construções: revisão e atualização de conceitos

Abstract

The paper discusses the industrialization of constructions from a new paradigm of production based on flexibility and lean production. The hypothesis is that the industrialization of constructions in the contemporary context occurs based on new design and production management practices and technological innovations associated with digital fabrication. Methods include literature review and field evidence from exploratory studies in Brazilian’s building companies and building sites. As results this work presents and analyzes various technological and managerial innovations recently introduced in the Brazilian construction industry and discusses the evolution in the concepts and practices of industrialization of construction.
