Life perceptions were studied by means of a tematic a perception test (Murray] in 21 cancer survivor male and female adolescents, who were treated in the oncology unit of an university associated public pediatric hospital at metropolitan Santiago, Chile. Most patients perceived both the world and themselves in a negative way. All of them had depressive feelings, mainly related to conflictive family situations and secondarily to death or survival as well. The importance of psychological support at the different stages of oncologic disease is emphasized, particulary in adolescent patients whose adaptation needs may become acutely and severily affected.
