Abstract

The pollen morphology of 27 out of 31 species of the genus Stryphnodendron was studied. General pollen morphology shows important variations in spite of the fact that the genus has a rather uniform gross morphology. Three pollen types are recognized, linked by transitions. Morphological trends are established and the extent to which they may indicate natural relationships is evaluated. Infrageneric subdivisions arc discussed. © 1992, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
