Abstract
The solid-state reaction process of La0.95MnO3 prepared from the reaction between La2O3 (La(OH) 3) and MnO2 was investigated using TG/DSC and XRD at high temperature as well as room temperature. The reaction process involved a multi-step decomposition of reactants and a formation of La 0.95MnO3. The formation of La0.95MnO 3 started around 1273K. No intermediate phase was found in the formation of La0.95MnO3. The prepared LaMnO3 and La0.95MnO3 were both orthorhombic. The content of Mn4+ in two samples was found to be very close.
