Introduction au concept de narcissisme groupal

Abstract

Some cultural, historical and psychanalytical remarks about relations between individual and group lead the author to propose a new metaphor: the «groupal narcissism», a conceptual abstraction intended to lighten forces tending to hold and to lengthen a group. After Freud's commentary about «the twofold existence of the individual, one to serve his own purposes and the other as a link in the chain which he serves against his will, or at least involuntarily...», the individual narcissism might be considered as originated from a «we (or Us) narcissism». «We narcissism» is to the «We» what individual narcissism is to the «ego».
