Abstract

The regulation of gene expression that determines stem cell fate determination is tightly controlled by both epigenetic and posttranscriptional mechanisms. Indeed, small noncoding RNAs such as microRNAs (miRNAs) are able to regulate neural stem cell fate by targeting chromatin-remodeling pathways. Here, we aim to summarize the latest findings regarding the feedback network of epigenetics and miRNAs during embryonic and adult neurogenesis. © 2014 Landes Bioscience.
