Cloud computing and its applications in the field of libraries

Abstract

With the development of technologies available through the web with the emergence of Web 2.0 and Web 3.0 and the steady increase in Internet speeds available to users, many organizations have turned to making their applications available for use through the Internet in what is known as cloud computing, as this technology has made it possible Its users have better features, such as saving expenses or making services available to a larger segment of beneficiaries. Libraries were not immune from benefiting from these technologies, so some libraries turned to participating in computing projects that were made available through some institutions that allocate their services to libraries, such as the Dura Cloud project. The following lines discuss what cloud computing is and examples of its applications, whether in the field of libraries or for Internet users in general.مع تطور التقنيات المتاحة من خلال شبكة الويب بظهور الويب 2,0 والويب 3,0 والزيادة المطردة في سرعات الانترنت المتاحة للمستخدمين اتجهت العديد من المؤسسات إلي إتاحة تطبيقاتها للاستخدام من خلال شبكة الانترنت فيما يعرف باسم الحوسبة السحابية ( Cloud computing )، حيث أتاحت هذه التقنية لمستخدميها مميزات أفضل مثل توفير النفقات أو إتاحة خدمات لقطاع اكبر من المستفيدين. ولم تكن المكتبات في منأى عن الاستفادة من تلك التقنيات فاتجهت بعض المكتبات إلي الاشتراك في مشاريع الحوسبة التي أتيحت من خلال بعض المؤسسات التي تخصص خدماتها للمكتبات مثل مشروع Dura Cloud . وتتناول السطور التالية ماهية الحوسبة السحابية ونماذج علي تطبيقاتها سواء في مجال المكتبات أو لمستخدمي الانترنت بشكل عام .
