Abstract

This story is based on a talk I gave at the North American Neurorehabilitation Symposium at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2010. It describes what rehabilitation might be like if I have a stroke when I am older, focusing on how robotic devices and information technology might be used. One can imagine similar scenarios for spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, and other neurologic injuries or diseases. References for some of the key ideas are provided in a brief discussion section at the end of the story. © 2011 Thomas Land Publishers, Inc.
