Abstract
Industrialization has a large potential in the acceptance of Local original income and opportunity for employment. However, on the one hand the industry holds potential disasters, which can threaten public safety and health and damage to the environment or ecosystem. This study aims to identify disasters caused by industry in Cilegon City and analyze and describe the implementation of industrial disaster prevention management in Cilegon City. The method used in this study is qualitative. Data obtained from interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the potential for industrial disasters varies based on industrial business fields. The largest industry in Cilegon City is the chemical industry (36%), so the biggest potential for industrial disasters is from the chemical industry. Chemical industry disaster potential can be caused by industrial failures such as chemical leakage, industrial infra structure, reactor tube explosion, gas leakage, fire, poisoning, radiation, and epidemics. In addition, industrial disasters are caused by natural disasters, such as tsunamis, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions. Disaster management to prevent industrial disasters in the city of Cilegon is carried out in an integrated manner by the Environmental Service, Regional Disaster Management Agency and the company owner of the industry. Disaster management in Cilegon City includes disaster mitigation, preparedness, responsiveness and recovery .
