Non-Destructive Wood Sampling Methods from Living Trees: A Literature Survey

Abstract

The collecting of wood samples from living trees in South Africa is sometimes hampered by the fact that many localities are situated either in wilderness areas or nature reserves where trees may not be felled for sampling. These samples therefore have to be removed by means of non-destructive methods.
