Abstract

This paper considers how the anthropology has objectivated the place of animals in its research objects during the last thirty years. While the discipline is currently the scene of conceptual and methodological renewals under the influence of the post-symbolic turn , the author examines the changes as well as the criticisms adressed to the past of the discipline, asking what the anthropologists gain and lose scientifically to consider the agentivity of animals in a symmetric way.
