Abstract
We describe adaptation of the acid citrate agar method for separation of hemoglobin variants. Eight hemolysates, applied to agar supported in a plastic tray, are electrophoresed for 50 min at room temperature. Materials are inexpensive, and normal and commonly encountered abnormal hemoglobins are separated into sharp, concise zones.
