Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine how much effectiveness rather than socialization, especially in terms of disaster which occurs because of tectonic activities . This relates to the location of Indonesia at the triple junction so it is prone to experiencing disasters due to tectonic activity. The alternative hypothesis (ha) states that there is a difference in understanding of tectonic disaster through socialization treatment. Research subjects were Indonesian students in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. The method used is an experimental research method with a one group pretest and posttest strategy. The data obtained was analyzed in three ways which are normality test, product moment correlation test, and two party test. The normality test found that the distribution of data is normal with scale 0.007 for pretest and 0.353 for posttest based on Saphiro-Wilk test. The effectiveness is measured by t-test from SPSS. The result shows that the syg 2-tail is 0.000 which means that there is a significance in the research result. This makes the hypothesis can be accepted. The accepted hypothesis means that socialization is still a good way to make people understand about the disaster and make the chance of survival is getting higher.
