Abstract
Gender lexicon is the construction of words based on a gender perspective in a particular community or community group, in this case of Sasak community. The image or feel of each word is different. Naturally and socially, a certain vocabulary can represent gender, namely the difference in the roles of men and women in social life. There are words that naturally and socially only identify the male side, conversely there are also certain words that identify the female party. The purpose of this study is to describe of gender lexicon in the Sasak community. The theory used is in the form of compound semantic analysis by Riemer (2010) which seeks to examine the meaning components of each gender lexicon in Sasak (as a Source language) into Indonesian (as the target language). Data collection is carried out by listening and note-taking using derivative techniques. The analysis of the research was carried out by qualitative descriptive analysis, while the data were analyzed by analysis of the meaning components. The results obtained by the use of gender lexicon in Sasak society which shows the male side is more represented in aspects of the social environment, while women only in domestic aspects of the household. This is different from the meaning of the gender lexicon in Indonesian, which are both more aligned.
